Mrs. Blackburn's Band: The band will be performing two or three short songs and short practices will be held, with Pete Buer as the bandleader. Black pants or skirts and white blouses will be required. Please RSVP to Gladys Jackson at: gcjackson@sdplains.com or phone: (605)244-5406 if you would be interested in performing in the rhythm band. You do not need to bring your own instruments, they will be furnished.

TIME CAPSULE
:
In 1939 a time capsule was buried in the stone steps of Bison's nearly completed school building. There is talk of opening the time capsule for the 100th Centennial. The only problem is-which stone steps? Is there anyone out there that knows the answer to this question? Please contact the school at (605)244-5961 if you have any information on this.

ALL SCHOOL REUNION FLOAT
:
The All School Reunion Committee has procured a large seated platform to use as a float in the parade on Saturday. They are looking for any members from the classes of 1928-1948 who might be interested in riding on the All School Float. Please contact Gladys Jackson at (605)244-5406 or Nancy Seidel at (605)244-5621 if you would be able to ride in our float. The float will hold approximately 25 people and we will fill it as you notify us. These are comfortable padded chairs and would be an enjoyable ride. It will also be one way to honor our older classes.

If anyone wants to perform, jam or just get together and sing, Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon have been set aside under the tent for jam sessions. You will be responsible for bringing your own equipment, mikes, amps etc. Electricity will be provided. There is no registration required, just show up. If you have a specific group that wants to perform at a set time, let us know and we will post it on the web site and put it on the Bison sign. Some events are planned at different times under that tent, so check out the schedule when you register.

FOR HOUSING:  If you need help finding housing or camping spots, contact Bernice Kari (605)244-5472.

Work is progressing, although be it slowly, on the update to the Homestead Book. This book will not be completed in time for the Centennial Celebration, but hope is for the book to be ready sometime in 2009. Orders continue to be taken and if you are interested in ordering a book, have questions or would like something included in the book, contact: Gladys Jackson (605)244-5406; Margie LaDue (605)866-4625 or Beth Hulm (605)244-5231.

The Bison Country Club is putting together a golf tournament on Sunday for anyone who is interested. Contact Larry Aaker (605)244-5961 at the Bison School for more information.

ROAD ALERT!! Starting April 1-Highway 20 east from Prairie City toward Bison, as far as the Bixby Road, will be under construction during this celebration time. You may want to consider an alternate route if you are coming from the west. The Bixby road from Highway 212 north is all black-top; the White Butte road just east of Hettinger, ND then south to Bison is also black-top.
